Two? Per side? Yes two. Because you won't want to stay somewhere without an extra fridge once you have had them.
HEATABLE POOL
Private to the two sides of the duplex: no sharing with other places nearby. The pool is open all year. It’s a big rectangle, 22x16x3-5' Rectangle. Lounge chairs are provided around the pool. Added a propane gas pool heater, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 82' (the high side of recommended rec pool temps, and the same temp Disney uses for its pools!) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a nightly surcharge (varies by season and with gas market price, has been $60-85 per night, just inquire, and must be for length of stay (this is based on market pricing for propane gas, and can change at any time, both up and down, until added to a reservation). Fee subject to change due to incredibly high gas rates right now. Simply request the pool be heated any time after making the reservation and at least a week before check in so we can get it on before you arrive.
Heatable pools in beach homes and duplexes are VERY RARE along the gulf. If a place doesn't mention it, it does NOT have one! Grab one with one while they last!
WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 250Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though!
PARKING
There is available onsite, offstreet, parking for at least 6 midsize vehicles (per side), more if you stack well. In duplex units, please be neighborly about this.
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, GRILLS ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have both drip coffee makers and Keurigs as well.
PETS
We do consider well-behaved canine furry friends at many locations. This requires owner pre-approval, and is subject to a pet fee (currently $250 per pet). Approval in a duplex location, especially for peak weeks, generally is only available for guests renting both sides of the duplex. Please inquire.
No smoking please, but feel free to eat lots of shrimp, bask in the warm sun, and have a great time!

What a great trip! So much space--and being able to spread out across the two kitchens and living areas was great. We really liked the beach walkover as well, which made it easy for some of out 'team' with mobility issues to get to the beach (and for those of us with little ones too). The pool under the home was a HUGE hit as well! Such a great break from the super hot beach and sands. We loved it all! Thank you!

Stayed in both sides of this wonderful 2 sided unit for a total of 12 bedrooms. Each side is fully set up with a kitchen, living room areas and more. It was perfect for us, and being able to move between the two sides on the deck and with the connecting doors in the living area was very convenient. Perfect for the gang, and hope to be back!

All good for our short holiday trip to the beach. Presents opened. Food eaten. Merriment had. Would suggest a grill, but other than that (and I saw that most places don't provide them), it was fully stocked and ready for us. Thanks for sharing you home with us for the holidays!

We had both sides of Wits End for our family Thanksgiving trip. It worked very well for us. We would have liked a little more space all in one dining area since we could not all easily be in one area but I understand this is 2 homes and each side is set up for a set number, so doubling that in one side is unreasonable. That said... having two kitchens for the meal prep and having two dining/living areas for dividing up groups was truly wonderful for us! And... FOUR refrigerators. Enough said! had a great time and thankful for the wonderful Thanksgiving time together!

There was more than enough room since we (ages 84 to 1 1/2 years old) rented out both East and West.
It was truly a once in a life time trip to gather almost everyone for our family to be all together before my father totally succumbs to dementia.
The guys went deep sea fishing, others went parasailing. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time. Weather was perfect.

The house was amazing. We had our family vacation, there was 12 of use, and there was plenty of room. The living areas got a little crowded when we were all in there, but that was expected with the large group. There was more than enough room for sleeping. The walkout to the Beach was so helpful with the smaller children. Everything was wonderful! We can't wait to book next years trip!

Morning walks on the beach, chasing crabs at night, private pool, covered parking, room for your family and the in-laws (on separate floors, of course), this place has it all. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Wits End East. A short drive to all the popular Gulf Shores attractions, but far enough away from the crowds.

We loved the home! From comparing from past rentals we’ve done (this is our 10th year traveling to AL) we noticed how clean the home was, we could walk barefoot and not be grossed out haha. Also, how solid the house is was also noticed. We didn’t hear much between the floors when people would go to bed, but maybe the neighbors from time to time. We had 10 kids total that ranged from 6 month to 19 years old and lots of personalities. With that being said sound and volumes were never an issue with comfort levels for the families that stayed with us no matter the time of day. Some are early risers and some night owls. We all felt we had the freedom to relax how we wanted without being a bother. Your house was very comfortable and we all had a memorable stay. Thank you for the opportunity to rent for another amazing vacation in our happy place! You guys were amazing to rent from.

Great home. We have grown kids and having their own bedroom and bathroom was really great. Right on the beach, fully equipped kitchen. Bring your own towels, both beach and shower. The bath towels provided are worse than motel 6. Put your food in the silver fridge as the white fridge doesn't properly cool the food and it all spoils within 2 days, plus it reeks of fish. Great beach location, comfortable home. Check in process is flawless. We would go back.

The location was the best part of the stay. The description in the listing is not complete. I was looking for a house to myself and this property is not that. It is a little deceiving how it is listed, especially for the price. It should mention that the property is two townhomes!

My husband and I stayed 5 weeks (February and the first of March) in Wit's End West. We were originally planning to stay 4 weeks but extended a week because we didn't want to leave. Our stay was wodnerful - five stars. The value was great. The view was great. We loved listening to the ocean at night... And not unimportantly since we both worked 'from home' the whole time, the internet was very reliable. The place was clean and comfortable and I really could not have asked for more. The location was also fantastic; the beach was not crowded at all (although I release it was very early in the season) and it was away from the bigger hotels so felt safe in COVID times. Its also an easy and short drive to bars and restaurants. The owners were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. We would definitely go back!

You won't be disappointed with this one!! The best thing about this property are the owners, incredibly responsive and they went overboard to make us happy. Our family group was 6 couples with 2 infants and 4 kids from 3-12. Unreal beach access, we saw dolphins in the early mornings, white sand, very clean beaches and lifeguard stands aren't too far away either. The heated pool was phenomenal for all the kids (and adults), but we had to call the property manager to turn it on. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishware and cookware, Internet was consistent, kids loved the bunk bed rooms - the pictures don't really do this place justice, we were happily surprised with the quality and spaciousness and we have already decided to revisit. The house was high-end and very well-kept. Parking was enough for 1 car and 5 mid-size suvs

Witt's End West is a spacious home with plenty of room for a large family gathering. The beds are good quality and the views are gorgeous. We saw multiple dolphin sitings in the mornings right from our bedroom window! This house is steps away from the beach, with easy access. The only issue we had was that there were a few things that weren't working correctly and needed to be fixed (ice machine, leaky fridge, coffee pot, etc) Aside from those things though, our family had a wonderful week celebrating Thanksgiving at the beach. We will definitely be back!

The board walk was a nice added bonus as we had a couple in their 70’s and this made their venture to the beach a little less strenuous. Rick was really easy to work with and prompt to respond to questions and inquiries. We had one issue with an ice maker and Rick had someone out the very next day. I would definitely recommend Wits End and will book again if we have another large group wanting to go to the beach.

LOVED this house! The house was nice and clean. Perfect beach access. The kitchen was nicely stocked. If there were any issues, we made a call and the property management was SO nice and VERY timely to come over. A few things that could be better: the kitchen needs new chopping knives, they were dull. One queen room on the 3rd floor and one of the bunk rooms had AWFUL beds. The other beds were great. Luckily we had extra space to sleep in the other upstairs room which the beds were much better. Overall we loved this house. We are already looking at dates to go back. I wouldn’t look anywhere else. Rick was very responsive as well! Thank you for this great property!

Sad that tomorrow is our last day. This place is amazing and we will most definitely be back next year! The heated pool is kept at a perfect temperature plus it's covered so the fun doesn't stop with the rain. Rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and thermostats on each floor. Stayed in the gulf-side 2nd floor room which has a nice, tall bathroom to vent steam easily from hot showers. The highlight was the beautiful balcony overlooking the beach, waves, sunrises, and sunsets. We also appreciated the multiple fridges to fit all the food and full kitchen for cooking. Perfect getaway from the Minnesota cold. Can't wait to come back!

Our experience with bama beach houses was excellent. We started in Wits end and it was wonderful! The access to the beach was amazing and my daughters loved the heated pool even when it was “chilly.” The view was beautiful and the location was great!

We had a BIG family trip to Gulf Shores, including my kids, parents, sibling, and nieces, and my husband’s parents, siblings, and niece/nephews. In total there were 11 adults and 9 kids aging in range from 1-17. Even with this many people, it felt like we all had our own space. Dinners were a little crowded, but between the table, couch/chairs, and the coffee table, we were able to accommodate our group. The hi lights of the property include: the pool, which was a big hit with the littles who were slightly intimidated by the big ocean, and with all the kids when the seaweed was a little out of control, the walkover that leads to the beach was soooo helpful for everyone, but in particular my parents who have some trouble walking, the exclusive feel of the beach; it never felt too crowded, as opposed to the beaches by the hotels where we ventured for parasailing. I do not have any specific complaints about the house or the area. There were a few cosmetic details that the owners could fix that had no bearing on the quality of our trip. However, I recognize that we were there at the end of the season, and I’m sure some of those issues happened before we got there, and I’m sure were fixed after the season ended, as the owners seem very invested with the state of their property. We had direct communication with them as soon as we booked, and they were sure to check in with us during and after our stay, to ensure all was well with our trip. It was comforting to know that the owners are very involved in the process, and don’t disappear, leaving everything up to the management company. We did have to call the management company once to get a bed sheet set, and they quickly brought it out to us. We all agreed that we would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Wit's End East so much! The property fit our needs very well, allowing privacy and togetherness as needed. I was impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was! No Keurig, but two drip pots which worked out just as well. Access to the beach was incredible and the pool below the house was great. Everything seemed well maintained. We really had no contact with the management company, but everything went smoothly. We would definitely consider the property for future beach trips!

This house was exactly what we were hoping for! We came to have Christmas with the family and were not disappointed! There were 14 of us, ages 6 to 70, and there was plenty of space for everyone! The kitchen is well-stocked, there is plenty of sleeping and bathroom space, and everything is clean and comfortable. It’s right on the beach and has amazing views and is close to everything we needed. The beach is clean and the sand is soft, making it easy to spend the whole day out there collecting shells and watching the dolphins play. The only down side was the washer/dryer combo. It’s pretty small for such a big place and doesn’t work the best. Overall we had a great vacation and would highly recommend it and will definitely stay again!

Beautiful property and timely responses to any incidental needs (burned out lightbulbs and slow tub drainage). Well stocked/supplied for kitchen items, linens, and blankets. Overall the property was clean, but the yard and white doors/trim could have used a good cleaning. We would definitely return to this location over other places we have stayed in Gulf Shores!

This place is ok. Got to share it with college kids from La. who got the cops called for being loud. We went and purchased new umbrella's and chairs and left them out in front of the condo overnight but they got picked up by dawn by Gulf Shores beach patrol so we lost all of them on day 1. We wouldn't have done it if we knew. They said there is an ordinance that must be displayed in multiple locations but wasn't. The people at Meyer said it must have been in some email that I overlooked. NOPE I looked when I got home.
Good afternoon Ken. I am glad you had a good time at our home and sorry two things marred your stay. Gulf Shores has a long standing program called Leave Only Footprints. We reference it in our policies and procedures, emailed a few weeks before your stay, which was read August 8, and mentions "Check-in, Check-out, Occupancy limits, Leave Only Footprints, Parking, and so much more... Check it out in our policies and procedures", which are also referenced in the rental agreement and confirmation. Although I am not aware of any ordinance about putting signage on the beach at each home, the city last time I was there had large construction type signs along the road. I am sorry that you all missed these and left your things on the beach over night only to come out the next day and find them gone. That had to be frustrating. Gulf Shores is zealous about this. You are actually the first group I've had this happen to but one is enough and I will put it in its own stand alone email too. I'll also check to see if the fridge magnet went awol, which is possible. On the neighbors, I am very sorry about that the group next to you behaved poorly. That group booked through the management co directly, and your note after the fact was the first I'd heard about it. That behavior is not acceptable. I hope Meyer assisted you with them. I've asked they not be allowed in one of my homes in the future. As I said in my email, I am happy to assist you with a future stay, either at this home or as you indicated, a bigger one. As I emailed, happy to help a little on the upgrade as a result of your reported loss of beach stuff and the inconvenience of the neighbors being rowdy. Thanks again!

Great Beach House! Very clean, roomy and easy access to beach. Pool was cold due to being in shade all the time. Refrig went out but was replaced same day. Beds were comfortable . We had a great stay!
Awesome location. You can walk out the door and walk right out on the beach.

This house was a great space for a family to gather, plenty of sleeping space and areas to 'escape' if needed. The beach walkover is a great addition to the property as is the pool!
