So close to everything, yet in your own private duplex, whether you rent one side, or both, you get your own private pool (TWO if you rent both sides!). No sharing unlike condos etc!

Added a propane gas pool heater, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 82' (the high side of recommended rec pool temps) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a per night surcharge for length of stay (gas is expensive right now, this does not actually recoup the cost!). Fee subject to change due to incredibly high gas rates right now. Any online quote will show the optional fee and its current pricing. You may also add it after booking by simply requesting the pool be heated any time after making the reservation and at least a few days before check in so we can get it on before you arrive. See our FAQ about heatable pools too.

Beach access could not be easier! The 4th Street public beach is right across the street. How do you get there? Walk out the door, go to to the stop light in front of the property, push button, and cross the street! No crossing random places or getting yelled at for short cutting through private property!
PARKING
There is available onsite parking for 4 cars per side (2 under the side, 2 in front of the side).
WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 100Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, GRILLS ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have both drip coffee makers and Keurigs as well.

What a wonderful vacation!!! We went on a family vacay with 14 people and had plenty of room. The house was fantastic, the pool was fantastic and the beach was only steps away. Everything was in walking distance. It was a great location. We thought we had left a billfold on the way home and called the host and they were so very nice and texted us and called us and went and looked. Best people to deal with. No worries at all. I just can't express how wonderful this whole place was.

Richards place at the Night Heron West was perfect for our group! The place was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed for our week long stay. The location is perfect- close to the beach, easy to walk around to the main stretch of Gulf Shores and is perfectly located near the hotels hosting the Beach Volleyball NCAA tournament. Everyone was able to enjoy their personal space with the spacious bedrooms and individual bathrooms. I highly reccommend this house for large parties looking to have a relaxing stay right next to the beach. We hope to be back next year!

This was also a great property. We rented out Night Heron East along with this for multiple family spring break and Easter. This is short walk to the beach, Restaurants, and stores! The pools were great too. I would highly recommend this property!!

It sounds like your group had the absolute perfect setup! Booking both the West and East sides of the duplex is such a 'pro move' for multiple families—it lets everyone be neighbors and enjoy the pools together while still having your own private space to retreat to at the end of the day. 🏠↔️🏠 We’re also glad you loved being just a short stroll from the beach and all the local shops and restaurants! 🍔🛍️

We enjoyed having a 'home' all to ourselves. The beach is just across the street, not hard to access at all. There are no private homes on the beach and this was about as close as you could get. Our family loved the space and we had an extra room that wasn't used. We used the private pool almost everyday (after going to the beach.) We found 10 beach/sports chairs in the carport closet that were greatly appreciated. They have a full sized ice maker which we greatly appreciated and used daily. I would suggest bringing extra necessities such as; toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, trash bags, plastic utensils, spices, ziploc bags, dishwashing pods, laundry pods, paper towels...we cooked quite a few meals and could've used a few extra dishwasher pods.

It is true there are no beachfront private homes right in this area, and Night Heron, across the street, is a wonderful choice for this close to the main drag... but... if you would like a private beachfront home, I do have several in the area. One quite close, right by Bahama Bobs, and most down West Beach a little further. Of course, beachfront stand alone homes are a bit more than beachview duplex homes like Night Heron (even when NH happens to be a super awesome one!) 😉 You are correct, as noted in the listings, we provide all the stuff (except spices) but... only starter packs to get you going after the, sometimes long, trip in, and then folks should grab more as they stock up on food, beverages, and more during the stay. That's true of all the beach homes in the area that I know of, but at least you can always do a set of dishes., the laundry, and more. 👍 Glad you all truly enjoyed yourselves, and loved the space, beach access, private pool and so much more. Night Heron was perfect for our family and the location was great! The house was beautiful and clean. I always notice when the ceiling fans are clean so I would say the cleaners did a good job. The pool was perfect. We really loved relaxing in the pool area. We all said at some point we would stay at this house again.

Night Heron is a great place to stay! We have stayed there two years in a row and loved it each time. The beach access is right across the street and the heated pool is a great amenity. It's close to restaurants and shops as well. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at Night Heron West. The weather couldn't have been better. We arrived on Tuesday and left on Sunday, and I didn't see a cloud in the sky the whole time! The house was as good as it was last year. We had 11 people staying there and all were impressed with the accommodations.... it was awesome.

The house was even more beautiful than the pictures. There was plenty of seating in the living area for the 10 of us and the kitchen was large enough for several cooks in the kitchen at any given time. The kitchen was very well stocked and the only thing we needed but was not supplied was pot holders. We also had the pool heated which we enjoyed. We would definitely rent again.

Night Heron has plenty of room and the location is fantastic. Short walk to the beach and the gulf made it easy to get grandkids back and forth. Pool area is a good place to wind down at the end of a busy day. Having the childrens bed rooms on the second floor (adult rooms as well) made it easy for the adults to visit and make a little noise without bothering the "littles". Would definitely recommend for families and adult groups as well.

It was so wonderful!
My mother’s family vacationed in Gulf shores once a year for a few decades. They always stayed at southern shores (across the street)
We were in town to celebrate the life of our dearly beloved granny. And it was such a pleasure to stay at your place! It served as our home base—though 6 adults and 2 toddlers stayed overnights—our cousins were able to join us by the pool some of the days.
Thank you for letting our family make memories and honor our granny’s legacy!

2nd trip to Gulf Shores, 1st stay with Bama Beach Houses. The property was perfect for our large multi-family fall break stay. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our week. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and the open floor plan allowed for large family dinners when we felt the desire to cook. The separate ice machine was an amenity I didn’t know I needed but will be a must for all future vacations. The location was excellent- right across the street from the beach with a crosswalk; next to a great little pizza and ice cream shop; within walking distance to a few great breakfast spots; only a short walk to Shrimp Fest! The driveway is also quite large so there is plenty of room to maneuver multiple cars. The owners communicated often and you can tell they truly want you to have the best vacation possible. I would highly recommend this property and operator, and we would certainly book this home again.

This home is right on the strip close to everything! The home looks just like the pictures. My family and I have a wonderful time! It was equipped with all the pots and pans silverware whatever you needed that was a plus for me! The owner are great on communication as well which is always a plus! It was hard to get in the door upon arriving but we figured it out. If you are looking for a home for you and your family 10/10 definitely recommend!

The house had more than enough room for 16 guest. We never felt crowded even when we were all in the kitchen/living room. The communication we easy and everyone was so sweet and helpful. The only thing that was missing was pot holders. We bought some and left for the next guest.

Stayed in both sides of Night Heron: We had an excellent time! Your home was immaculate, very well designed, and convenient. We have a large family and the design of having the two sides connect via the living room was perfect! And who doesn’t need 2 kitchens to cook Thanksgiving for that many people :-)

The house was fantastic! It was so spacious and even with 16 people we never once felt like we were on top of each other. We knew we scored big when we realized we were sandwiched between 2 liquor stores and a pizza/ice cream shop! Putting a refrigerator downstairs was a brilliant idea! We made that fridge our drink fridge which allowed us to keep the wet kids out of the house! Kept it stocked with popsicles too! One thing I would suggest is a handrail in the pool. Only person who had issues was my 72 year old momma but we were there to help so it wasn’t a major issue. Outside of that, we had an amazing time with our family. We are already talking about next year! Hoping we can book two next to each other so we don’t have to leave to see each other but we spent most of our time at the house! Kudos to you! By investing in these properties you allow so many families to make some awesome memories together. Between our house and my cousins that they rented, we were able to celebrate a one year olds birthday, an 11 year olds birthday and a 72 year olds birthday! We are forever thankful for you! Hope you had a great 4th!

We had a fantastic time! Your house is great and we already have a group of friends that will be booking for next summer if they haven’t already. The room layout was perfect for our group and I loved that each space had their own bathroom. The private pool was an awesome addition. Location could not have been better. Kudos by the way on the very accurate description. I was a little nervous when I originally booked because things were under construction and there weren’t really pictures. I had been looking for weeks with no luck, then your place popped up. I immediately booked and just put it in God’s hands hoping it would turn out ok. And we could not have been happier. While this vacation was a family vacation with our three teenagers, we allowed them to all bring friends and it was ultimately our oldest son’s senior trip so it was a really big deal for us that it turn out special. You literally had everything we could have possibly needed. The only thing I could think of might be a few extra blankets. The older kids said maybe curtains in the bedrooms so they could sleep later lol but definitely not a complaint by any stretch. As for management, they were great. We had two issues with the toilets and both times they were very prompt in responding and making sure we were taken care of immediately. Thank you so much for sharing such an awesome property with us. We hope to be back soon.

We loved the place and the location, it was just what we wanted and may rent again for next year, we are trying to drum up some more people to take the other side too. The place was exactly as described and pictured.

I cannot say enough great things about this home. We have been coming to Gulf Shores on an annual trip for the past 4 years and have been wanting to find the perfect spot to rebook. We finally found it and could not be more excited! The home has amazing finishes, plenty of room for all of the guests, a beautiful private pool, and is SO conveniently located to liquor stores, gift shops, restaurants, and the beach. Everyone in our group had an AMAZING stay and we will certainly be back!

Our family loved this place! Beautiful, clean, well accommodated, and just steps from the beach. Loved having two refrigerators. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay here again.

Great house! Spacious and clean! Well stocked kitchen. Your house is great! Loved having comfortable king beds in 5 of the rooms! Close to the beach and restaurants. Will definitely be back!

This was a great place for our group from Texas and our bikes/ slingshots. Very nice, clean and perfect location. Communication setting this up was EASY!!! Thank you for that. If we had any suggestions or requests, it would be to have access to a gas grill, other than that, PERFECT !!!

We had a great stay at Night Heron West. Management was easy to get in touch with. They responded quickly. There was plenty of room for our family of 12. The walk to the beach access wasn’t too bad. It’s literally right across the street. My only suggestion would be to bring a thick blanket for at night. There are only two very thin sheets on the beds. They do have a few extra blankets around the house for you to use, but not for every bed. The house is beautiful and we enjoyed staying there very much. The owners even sent us a box of chocolates for renting their home. So sweet! We would definitely recommend staying at Night Heron West.

We had a wonderful time in Gulf Shores and this house was perfect for our party of 10. There is plenty of living room space for the adults and kids, spacious bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets. The kitchen comes equipped with first-class appliances, and every gadget you might need to cook a meal. The independent ice-maker really came in handy for the long days at the beach. Our stay was very comfortable and we look forward to staying at the Night Herron again soon. Thank you!
