BEACH ACCESS
Casa Playa is located on the north side of West Beach Boulevard, directly across the street from the beach and you can see the beach! You have beach access at the 12th (3 mins, < .1 mile!) and 13th street public beaches, PLUS a large pool private to just the guests of Casa Playa. We aren’t talking about blocks to reach the beach, it’s right across the street, .1 miles to the west!
POOL? You bet!
BIG outdoor pool (shared only between the two sides). 30x18x3-5' rectangular bit of bliss!
PARKING
There is available onsite parking for at least 6 cars per side. More if you park under then home and stack carefully. Just share nice with the neighbors!
WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 100Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.

The home was clean and ready to enjoy. I loved having plenty of plates, glasses, and silverware available to use in the kitchen. Two refrigerators and 2 dishwashers made feeding 17 so much easier to accomplish. There are a total of 48 steps to reach the top floor. I feel that should be obvious in host description or pictures on the website. All seven bathrooms were clean and nice to use. The pool was clean and wonderful to use. Our family of 17 stayed here for 4 nights. There was plenty of room for all of us! We were especially thankful for the 2nd refrigerator! The house was clean and had everything we needed. We appreciated that there were so many bathrooms and a laundry as we had 5 young children with us. We loved how close the beach was to the house. We sat out in the balcony every night. Would definitely come again!

We greatly enjoyed our two months at Rick’s place. He is an excellent communicator. We were very pleased with the house, the location to the beach (only about .2 miles to beach access), and the proximity to town. One thing to keep in mind if you are scheduling the winter season (Jan-Feb) is that there might be construction nearby, but they don’t start super early or work too late. But the winter is the slow season, so lots of rentals in the area try to get projects taken care of during that time. We also really loved everyone being able to have their own bathroom. Overall, great place to stay, great host, and great experience.

The host is absolutely fantastic - great communications before, throughout, and after - given enough of a heads up about what was in the home for use to be able to plan ahead and bring or order anything else we might need. A regular size washer and dryer was an amazing feature to have! Two dishwashers were super great, as well. It was a very enjoyable stay.

Perfect for our Family & Friends beach trip

We rented the Casa Playa East in Gulf Shores for our "Family & Friends" beach trip and were so happy with the accommodations. This duplex was really big with 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. There were two separate living room areas so everyone could watch tv or hang out separately if they wanted. The kitchen was VERY spacious and there was enough dishes/utinsils to take care of a large crew! This place will sleep 24 although we only had 8 so there was plenty of room to move around. There are 3 flights of steps to the top floor but we let the younger ones stay up there and my husband and I took the main floor bedroom. One of the best things was the pool!!! It was a lot bigger than I expected and had plenty of chairs to lay out on in addition to picnic tables and more chairs in the under deck areas. All in all I would highly recommend the Casa Playa duplex if you have a large group. Also, this duplex had the best pricing of all the places I checked which was a very large deciding factor in addition to the size of the unit. We were able to sit out on the deck and see the Gulf and it was just a short walk across the street to get to the beach. And last but not least, the owners were very proactive in staying in touch throughout the booking and arrival process to make sure we knew everything we needed prior to coming to the beach. I don't think you would be disappointed if you choose the Casa Playa..Oh, also the other side of this duplex can be accessed through a door so if you have a really big gathering the West side has as much room as the East side does and you can access that side by opening the door.

We had a wonderful time at the Casa Playa East in Gulf Shores!!! This duplex is an awesome place to accommodate larger groups with 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms..the West side offered the same number of bedrooms/baths and you could access that side through a joining door if you rent both sides...this would be great for a family reunion! The kitchen was large and open to both living areas and was amply fitted with dishes/utensils and pots & pans. Plenty of towels were supplied and there was a washer & dryer on the 2nd level which was a central location to most of the bedrooms. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony and was pleasantly surprised to see both a Keurig and regular coffee pot to use. We loved the pool which was large and had plenty of chairs to accommodate our group of 8 adults. It was just a short walk across the street to the beach, although you could see the beach and water from the balconies. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and I would highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a nice, clean place that will accommodate a large group. Each side will sleep 24 people and there are parking spaces for several vehicles. I was very impressed at how well the owners did with keeping in touch and providing information that would be helpful from the booking time to check in and even afterwards. Great place, great people to work with equals a GREAT vacation!

Everyone one of us loved the place. Plenty of beds and spacious for all. We only saw 1 thing wrong our closet handle was hanging off so my husband tried to screw it back in and it is stripped not a huge deal but would be nicer to rent a place that things are not falling apart for the price we paid. All and all it was a very nice place. The jacuzzi tub in the second floor master bedroom did not have a stopper so it could not be used and would have been nice to use it. The exterior sliding doors especially the shared deck did not lock but did have security bars. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need, especially for a large family on a multi day vacation.

Excellent place to stay! Everything was great and Host was super responsive and accommodating!! I'd stay with them again for sure! The beds in the home were a little rough, very hard, and pretty uncomfy. We ended up buying a mattress topper to help but it really wasn't enough. Overall, great place to stay though.

We travel with my brother and his wife. Sometimes my sister and her husband also join us for a week or so. The house was very roomy. We like to golf, play Pickleball and ride our ebikes. We saw a couple of great shows and enjoyed the relatively close proximity to everything we wanted to do. Check in was simple as well as check out. Great location.

The home was exactly what we needed for our family. Wish it were closer to the public beach access area. The kitchen could use a pantry. When you are staying with a large family, groceries have to go somewhere and there was no space to store and organize groceries. The mattresses on the main floor and 2nd floor need replacing, but we managed. Overall, kudos to this lovely home. With these few adjustments, I recommend this vacation home to any family looking for a place at Gulf Shores.

There was plenty of room with room to spare for the 14 of us. The view was nice. The house was spotless. Our host Richard was friendly and answered our questions within a few hours. Looks just like the photos and matched the description. The beds and pillows were a bit hard for my liking. But the memories we made there at Thanksgiving were priceless!

We rented both sides of the house for our big group. It was nice having two kitchens & dinning areas to cook & eat at. It was really nice that every room had their own bathroom for such a large group. Everyone really enjoyed staying here. It was close to the beach,lots of room, peaceful, quiet place. We were at the beach everyday even for the time of year we were down there. Thanks for having such wonderful accommodations for us to stay at.

House was amazing for our family. Stayed in both sides of Casa Playa. The management company did a great job. Great job having two refrigerators per side, plenty of sleeping quarters. Lots of seating. If we ever need that much room in Gulf Shores again. We will for use use your home. Thanks for checking on us. Denise Bond

Great holiday retreat! We enjoyed our stay . It was just the right amount of bedrooms and baths. I was so pleased to see it had two refrigerator which helped tremendous. The pool was enjoyed also by the brave ones. Hopefully next time we rent it will be warm. I would recommend to anyone who's looking for a fun getaway.

Your home was great! We had such a good time and your home felt like home during our stay. We had a little trouble with the A/C on the second floor but the property management company had someone out there within hours of calling. What we appreciated most was having all the silverware, plates, pots and pans that we needed. Although we did have to buy a blender to make our margaritas, as the one there was cracked and leaking. Still please don’t take that as a complaint. We really enjoyed our stay. Hope to have the whole family together again soon and we will be staying here!

Richard and his team were very responsive and accommodating to our last minute request to book. His place was clean and comfortable for our family. The linen was fresh, and there were several pots and pans in the kitchen available for cooking. The pool is intimate, and the location is central to Gulf Shore and Orange Beach. If you are traveling with elderly family members please note that there are several layers of stairs including getting inside of the house. This is expected of a house near the beach as they are built off of the ground to avoid flooding. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk 2 minutes to the beach. Would highly recommend. Thank you so much!

We were a group of 22 people/ five families. We had plenty room and lots of fun. Beach access was just a few hundred feet away. Sea view from all levels. Quiet and vibrant community. Our support contact reached out to us before we reached and was always responding to any and all questions. We had a great vacation and hope to come back sometime!

Large home for families or large groups, close to the beach

The home was within a 3 minute walk to the beach. It is very large for families/friends wanting to stay together in the same home. The pool is not heated. It did not mention it in the listing , so I knew in advance. We went in mid-October and the pool was too cold for most us to enjoy. The kids got in it a few times. The beds were a lot harder than I prefer, but that wouldn’t stop us from staying again at the home. We had a problem with the A/C on the second level and it was fixed that day. I highly recommend you add this home to your list of possibilities!

Awesome location! Rooms are huge and EVERY ROOM HAS ITS OWN BATHROOM! This place was great! It accommodated a lot of people very easily. Huge bedrooms all with their own bathrooms! We would definitely stay here again.

The check-in was easy! Lots of beds! We really appreciated the extra refrigerator and washer/dryer. The kids loved the pool and the house was near the beach. Our team very much enjoyed spending the week at your beautiful home in Gulf Shores. They loved having their own pool, and the large living rooms were great for team meetings. Having 4 refrigerators was key in stocking up plenty of gatorade and protein drinks! The massive size of the house and all of the bedrooms with baths allowed our players nice spaces to rest while not feeling cramped whatsoever. We absolutely loved the trip!

Was a great place for a large group to stay. There's plenty of beds for everyone to sleep in and the private pool in the back is well maintained. It was nice that there were two fridges, and we were a close walk to the beach. Check-in and out is super easy!

Loved the separation of rooms. With the age differences the ones that wanted to go to be early could while the others hanged out. Lights on lower balcony didn’t work. No big deal for us but someone else might want lights. A couple chairs was rusted or cracked on decks. But overall absolutely perfect for our family. We will stay here again. Possibly bring larger group with more family.

The property was exactly as described. Right across from the ocean. We throughly had a great time. We enjoyed the pool. We brought our own grill. We had a great time with our neighbors. Exactly what we were looking for. My only criticisms are that the house could benefit from some really good cleaning. There were what looked to be food stains on the walls and lots of dust. However this did not deter from anything we had going on. Would definitely stay here again and the owners were excellent with communication. Thank youβ€

Rick is the greatest to work with. He was 100% responsive to every question I had and you can tell he takes pride in his property. The house is well kept and it is super easy to get to the beach. Close to everything else as well. If you have a large group, we had three families, it is the perfect place to stay. I will definitely stay there again. Awesome Vacations! Shared the property with two other families (18 in total) and it was awesome. The property was big enough that we had our privacy but still felt homey. Proximity to everything was amazing. Exactly as expected. We had a great time staying here. Property was clean and well taken care of. Walls are thin between the 2 sides, we were able to hear an awful lot from the neighbors. We expected we might though, so not a huge deal. Close to the beach-east walk to the public access.
