Sapphire is a 12 bedroom family-friendly luxury beach home located directly on the beach in an exclusive, gated community with zero-entry pools. Handicapped accessible features. Elevators. Community firepit. The perfect vacation home for large groups, or small ones that like lots of space!
There are 3 beach side living rooms, one on each floor, in this home. Need a beverage? There are wet bars with mini-fridges and stand-alone ice-makers in the second and third floor living rooms so you can save yourself the trip down the stairs (or elevator!). Each floor also has its own washer and dryer because when you are on vacation why would you want to carry your clothes up and down the stairs (or in the elevator) more than you absolutely have to!?

In addition to the zero-entry community pool located right across the drive from the home, the home also has its own private, elevated dipping pool at living room level. Dipping does NOT mean itty bitty. Its a 20x12x3.5' Rectangle. Sit in your living room, watch your kids play in the pool outside, how cool is that!? Or enjoy that beverage overlooking the gulf!
And we added a gas pool heater to the deck pool, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 84 (the high side of recommended rec pool temps) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a per night surcharge for length of stay (gas is expensive right now, this does not actually recoup the cost!). Fee subject to change due to incredibly high gas rates right now. You may add it after booking by simply requesting the pool be heated any time after making the reservation and at least a few days before check in so we can get it on before you arrive. See our FAQ about heatable pools too.

Two? Yes two. Because you won't want to stay somewhere without an extra fridge once you have had them. And mini-fridges in wet-bar areas on the other floors too! Plus.. 2 dishwashers.
PARKING
You can park 5-6 mid to full size vehicles in front and under the home. In addition, there are multiple overflow parking areas in the Cottages neighborhood, conveniently located nearby, not miles away! "Street parking" is not allowed -- parking in areas other than at the home and in the overflow parking areas -- per the HOA rules, and NO buses, trailers, or RVs are allowed to park anywhere in the community.
WIFI/INTERNET? YOU BET!
YES! We have an awesome Eero multi-node mesh network fed by fiber optic for up to 1GB speeds (and we typically see 750+ in real world line speed tests at the home) to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!

PLEASE NOTE that the Cottages at Romar neighborhood association has determined that no weddings or special events may be hosted in the property. This is applicable to our Jewels by the Sea. However, although you cannot host weddings or special events at the Diamond, Emerald, or Sapphire, you certainly can stay there during your trip and enjoy these large homes, their luxury, and the terrific neighborhood amenities.

Yes. There is a direct-plumbed gas grill for your use.
SOAPS, PAPER and BEACH TOWELS, COFFEE ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). All bed linens and bath towels are provided (bath towels, we provide 1.25* the MAX Guests (not however many you reported). That's a lot, like more than 55 for 44 people; however, if you plan to 'pack the house' AND expect to use more than one towel per person, then may want to bring some more. You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Also also... all our homes have both drip coffee makers and Keurigs as well.
You ll love staying at the Sapphire at the Cottages at Romar. You ll wish you never had to go home. If you don t book early, you ll stop by wishing you could be here.
We have a number of smaller places as well, and also bigger: like taking 2 sides of a very nice duplex to get 20 (twenty!) bedrooms.

This was our 1st time renting this house & all we can say is WOW. We could not believe how pretty everything was. We really enjoyed staying here. Everything was as described as in the listing. Don't bother bringing your own chairs, canopies & wagon as you can rent them right in front of the house. Hopefully we can stay here again next year.

House and pool were very nice. Lots of seating inside and out. We used Ike's for rental of chairs, umbrellas and a yeti cooler at the beach and that all worked out well. We had a SHIPT account so had groceries delivered from Publix and Target during the week. The house is also close enough that a couple of times someone would just run to the neighborhood Walmart or Publix. Liquor store was just across the street. Just FyI, we have stayed in many VRBO's that usually had spices, foil, etc. left from previous renters but there was nothing left in the cabinets or drawers so plan accordingly. Also, no boogie boards, floats, pool or sand toys. Nothing extra left so I assume that everything is cleaned out each time. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses and large cooking pots and utensils. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would need to cook for and feed a large group. Three coffee pots and all the icemakers came in handy. The three dishwashers were great and all used, as well as, all three refrigerators. Never ran out of hot water even though many times we had several showers and washing machines going all at the same time. Also never had a problem with the house staying cool even with kids running in and out. It was a great trip for our family of 21 and would book again with Bama Beach Houses.

After searching for 25 years for the best house to accommodate our large family’s annual beach trip - we finally found it through Bama Beach House Rental. We have rented Sapphire four years in a row. We have 28 in our extended family and it works perfectly for kids and adults! Nothing better than sipping coffee in the morning on the deck, watching the ocean (usually a pod or two of dolphins) and the kids playing in the pool. More importantly, the Bama Beach House team has always been super responsive to any issues we’ve had (not many)! It’s always clean, well stocked and ready to go. If you are looking for accommodations for a large group, this is it.

My family has stayed in three different houses in "Cottages at Romar" Diamond, Emerald, and in 2025 Sapphire. These houses are spacious, close to the beach, and the private pool is wonderful! This last summer all 21 members of our family (ages 4-75) spent a week at Sapphire- the house is huge with lots of sleeping places (in beds), and a roomy common area for eating, playing games, setting up puzzles, and just relaxing. Having three washers/dryers is great for keeping up with swimming suits, towels, and kids' clothes. Having an elevator is a MUST for moving groceries, luggage, and people up three floors! Our family spends a lot of time in the pool (right off the living area)- it does NOT need to be heated if you go there in the summer, and the outside eating and seating area has space for a lot of people. Heading down to the beach is a one minute walk- even with tents, chairs, beach toys, etc. Our group even brings their own paddle boards and beach games, so there is lots to do for all ages. It is nice to have the Community Pool right there, but in July that pool temperature is quite warm. Great for the "little kids" in our group! When we have had some minor issues, the management company responds quickly, and the owner is very responsive and has always been interested in our comments and suggestions after we visit. We are heading back to Sapphire in 2026 and 2027- our family is already looking forward to a week on the beach!

We have all returned home safely from our week at the sapphire, and everyone one says: " best trip ever"!! A lot of that has to do with the way you run your business! The Sapphire was very clean and you always do some upgrades yearly! This year the label on switches was commented on numoerous times, and when did you install the shower by the water hose? Some thought always been there, some though recently.
One more comment! Saturday or Sunday about 6:30 pm we lost wfii. My granddaughter came to me, we checked your instructions and she texted your contact. They responded immediately, and walked her thru what to do, and it was up and running in less than 30 minutes!! Very impressed!
Again thanks for what you do for me and my family! We can't wait til next year! Also it was discussed about spending a Christmas at the beach in the future, as well as our summer trip, will contact you about that on down the road!

My family absolutely loved the Sapphire! The location on Orange Beach is beautiful: walk right out onto the beach! The floor plan was exceptionally functional for our multi-generational reunion. Having a lift to take luggage to the upper floors was amazing! We were impressed with the spacious 8 ensuite bedrooms, the 4 comfortable "double" twin bedrooms and the amenities on each upper bedroom floor: mini-fridge and coffee station, washer/dryer. We also made use of the beach-facing "den" on each upper floor: perfect for smaller groups to play games, read or watch tv, and which also had access to the balcony overlooking the beach. We loved the well-equipped kitchen (multiple refrigerators and dishwashers and huge prep island) plus the spacious and comfortable gathering space on the first floor that flowed onto a deck. We made and served dinner to 40 relatives (some were staying in the Cottages at Romar, just behind the Sapphire). The pool was a big hit with the children. We all spent many happy hours on the deck enjoying the beach view, morning sun and the moonlit night sky. We are excited about returning to The Sapphire!

This property was the perfect fit for our company retreat- the layout was well accommodating, there was plenty of seating for presentations, and we were right on the beach. The kitchen was well stocked, and the washer/dryer on each floor was super helpful. Highly recommend for a big group!

Our stay was amazing! The home was well kept and the management company was excellent! I have never had a company take such good care of checking in daily. The little perks like them coming out to take the trash out to the road for us was great! It's the little things and they did an awesome job!

Had a wonderful family reunion time in this place. Served us well. Very nice, spacious and functional place. Basic supplies for starters were available but not much more. Would be helpful if items like spices were available, even if previous guests would leave them behind for the next guests to use. The elevator could have used a cleaning. We would sure stay here again.

I reached out to learn more about the elevator needing a clean, so I can be more specific with cleaning gang, but am glad everything else in this 12BR beauty was shipshape for you all! Our stay was amazing! The home was well kept and the management company was excellent! I have never had a company take such good care of checking in daily. The little perks like them coming out to take the trash out to the road for us was great! It's the little things and they did an awesome job!

Our family consists of 5 families with 18 people ranging from age 3 to 83 . While we didn't really need all 12 bedrooms, we made use of all of them. The house is in a great location and well equipped. The elevator came in very handy for our elderly family members. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a large group.

We have returned from our week at The Sapphire, and again it was great! Your team was on top of everything and were always professional! We had a plumbing problem on the third floor Friday and they got right on it. Plumbers had to be called and they were there within 2 hours! Baby wipes were the problem.... I will be willing to pay, whatever you think is fair for the plumber's work! You have been good to my family and me, and we are looking forward to next year already!

Excellent!!! We loved this property! Next time we have a large group we will definitely book again. Home was clean, beautiful and incredibly spacious! Three full size refrigerators and three dishwashers made food storage and clean up a breeze! Lay by the pool but feels like you are on the beach or just a few steps in the sand and you are laying on the beach! We had 7 families staying all together and had plenty of extra room. Highly recommend this property and this owner.

For my 40th birthday, which fell on Good Friday, all I wanted was to wake up in my favorite place with my favorite people. That I did! I took the opportunity with the long Easter weekend to capitalize on my wish! My family along with some of our dearest friends and their families came and celebrated over the long weekend.
The house was perfect!
The kids enjoyed all bunking together in the bunk rooms and the adults enjoyed private rooms. :) My sister and brother-in-law made the most amazing birthday dinner for all 36 of us and it was the perfect place to gather and celebrate together. My husband is a musician, so he rented a keyboard and on Easter morning, we gathered on the deck (wrapped in blankets!) for our own Easter service where he led us in worship and another friend read the scripture and liturgy. We followed by lunch and an Easter egg hunt on the beach. It was an absolute dream.
One of my friend's daughter asked if we could come again for my 40th and one month birthday. LOL. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Overall we truly enjoyed the house, which is obvious since we already rebooked it for next year! This was our 6th year to host this beach trip, and everyone said it was by far their favorite house yet. Honestly I can see our annual trip growing to a place of needing to book both Sapphire and Emerald for the same dates. Maybe even diamond as well, in the future.

It was wonderful that everyone could be so close together and walk to the other houses. We have been doing this vacation Labor Day weekend for over 20 years. I appreciate that your company worked with me as far as making payments. I just retired from owning a business and I understand preferring paying by check because of fees. I will continue to book this house every year since it seems to be a perfect location for us.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Sapphire beach house. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the house and the quick response. The house met all of our needs and we had people from 8 years old to 93 in the house during our visit. The private pool was a hit with the kids and the adults enjoyed that it was easy to keep an eye on the kids and stay in the shade. Thank you again for the beautiful beach house.

We were NOT disappointed with the lovely, Sapphire. The Sapphire highlights for us was the pool, that great colorful pool light, plenty of quality tables and chairs, laundry facilities on every floor, and adequate refrigeration. I liked that there was a gas stove as I cook on gas at home. We enjoyed walks around the community, visiting the community pool, as well as, all the nice amenities of Sapphire home. Peering over the 3rd floor balcony, to see our 4 daughters, now young women, with spouses, swimming together, playing with babies, caring sweetly for one another. I won’t forget those moment captured at the Sapphire. We made some special memories in your home. Thank you!

The house is beautiful and we had a wonderful, memorable time. It was the perfect house for our needs with the pool deck being on the living room level and with the view of the ocean, perfect for my elderly in laws. Everyone was talking about “next time”. We had a wonderful time! The house was clean and organized when we checked in on Saturday.... There was a small ant issue in the living room and management promptly sent over a bug service to spray with insecticide within an hour of my phone call. We really appreciated it. All in all we had a great time. We stayed at this same house seven years ago. In fact, we were the first guests in the house! We were happy to see that for the most part the upkeep of the house has been maintained.

We had a perfect week! Everything worked out great! The pool guys were friendly and joked with my 86 year old Dad and teased his great grand kids. Someone took care of pulling trash cans out for us on trash days. It was the perfect size for our group that traveled from all over the country!

Stayed in both Emerald and Sapphire: Our vacation was a blast as always and everyone really enjoyed the homes. We had over 90 people this time around so we ended up renting another smaller home in the community. Most likely be renting the 2 houses again for the full week and possibly even your third home. My cousins from other states saw our photos and would like to join us moving forward!

We had a great time. The house was better than we expected. It seemed well cared for and we were excited that the kitchen was so well stocked. At other places, even if the house sleeps 15 they only provide 6 plates/glasses, etc 🤷. We appreciated that the place settings and appliances accommodated the large house. Also the pots/pans etc were sized for large groups as well. We always bring our own dishes and pans because the other houses we stay in aren't adequate in what they provide. We were happy to find that it would not have been necessary with your place. The only things I can think of by way for improvement would be a book that details things like how to work the TV's and how to reset the elevator. We had two people get stuck in it and it took a minute to figure it out. Also the company you use responded right away with anything we needed and they were very helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions about our stay. I'm happy to provide feedback.

Our family (my parents, three sisters, all our kids and now our kids' kids) started our annual beach vacations in 1997 when there were 14 of us. Now, there are 27 of us! We have searched for a house that housed all of us comfortably, was clean, had a great outdoor space (pool and on the beach) and comfy beds! This is it!!!! We all said we'd finally found it. There were a few minor things wrong (broken door knob, a couple of bedside lamps that didn't work, and a leaky sink) and they were there in a flash to fix! I really only texted them about it so they wouldn't think we did it!! I wasn't expecting them to be fixed. Also, the air conditioner went out and it was fixed in a matter of a couple hours - nobody suffered a night without it - kudos to management and the air conditioning company! The staff was extremely attentive, even bringing frozen strawberries for our Daiquiris when I jokingly texted that's all we needed at the time! We've already booked for next year! Positives - great view of the Gulf while sipping morning coffee or our afternoon drinks; a short walk to the seashore, great pool furniture and comfy beds! Only semi-complaints were about some of the very hard pillows, so you might want to bring your own! Overall - great property and wonderful property managers!

Our family of 21 (ages 7 to 77) truly enjoyed this home for the week! Clean and as advertised! Check in/out a breeze! Mngmt Co responsive to minor issues quickly. There was plenty of space for all of us and we really enjoyed the main floor, large kitchen for prepping/feeding all of us easily, long kitchen table for eating/games/puzzles, and outdoor covered patio space that was very comfortable and utilized sun up to sundown by someone in the crew! The medium sized pool on the patio was great for kiddos, as well as the gathering spots on upper floors allowed space for smaller gatherings. This section of beach was moderately crowded (there are the houses set right behind in the Cottages at Romar). And the similar houses are set very close by on one side (can hear each other pretty well). We have stayed at other beachfront houses that were more secluded (with no homes directly behind or withing 10 ft of them), but there was no trouble finding space to put up shade for our large crew during our week. You do have to rent or bring your own chairs & umbrellas to be right at the shoreline (taller canopies and sunshades had to be set far back off the shoreline which was initially mildly annoying, but we got over it...this was our first stay at Orange Beach and that is the rule there). There was a beach volleyball net a few houses down that made for several nights of fun predinner volleyball games! We did not use the community pool, but there were lots of families there with little ones. We will for sure consider staying here again as it accommodated our very large extended family with comfortable spaces for all, quality beds for sleeping well, and a large kitchen that made meal prepping easy! Also really appreciated having multiple fridges and ice makers! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us so we could make some wonderful family memories!

Beautiful beachfront home that easily accommodated our family of 26, 14 of which were children. The days on the white sand beach were lovely, and when the babies were napping, we enjoyed the pool at the house. Great restaurants, and the we only started to explore Gulf shores State Park. Plenty to do in this wonderful spot. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

50th Wedding Anniversary!

23 of us ranging from one year to those of us celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, stayed in this home for a week. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the with all of the dishes and cookware that we needed. The home is incredibly beautiful and spacious. It was so nice for each family to be able to have their own area their own living room and some quiet space. The home is decorated in a coastal charm, beds were very comfortable.The deck with the pool is where we lived for the whole week. The view is incredible, and the beach found a lot of our young people fishing daily and catching!. We loved having the wine coolers and ice makers on every floor, and the washers and dryers never stopped running! The biggest negative was the door on the oven does not close tightly, so it was hard to keep the large oven with lots of food cooking evenly. The large cooktop was wonderful. Another downside was that the large refrigerator at the bottom floor by the elevator never worked. We were fortunate that we didn't need it. The two refrigerators upstairs are very spacious but both freezer drawers were very difficult to get open. This was a wonderful home and we would love to come back again someday.

Great location, size of house, and pool was great temperature when heated. More than enough room for us to all spread out and enjoy. Plenty of seating in main living/dining area. A couple of things needed fixing (loose doorknobs, sink disposal, coffee pot having to be unplugged to turn off), but I expect that when you have quick turnover during busy times...nothing major we couldn't work around.

Annual SB Trip and lots of fun! We loved being in Orange Beach and the location of this house is perfect. The house has tons of room and the extra living rooms were a great space for the kids to hang out in. The pool right on the deck was great for the kids to swim and parents to hangout. The owners of this house were great to work with and Myers was very responsive when we had an issue. Highly recommend this property for large groups who want personal space and to be right on the beach.
