Lagoon front. This home has fabulous views over the lagoon. So nice. So tranquil. And those sunsets! Wow! Situated in a small neighborhood of mostly owner occupied homes, this great home shares a very cool lagoon front pool with the neighborhood and shares a lagoon fishing dock too!
POOL?
You bet. Guests of OGP5 have access to the community pool, right on the lagoon! Bonus, there is a small lagoon side beach right by the pool, along with a fishing dock! The pool is 24x14' big, and 3-5' deep!
BEACH ACCESS
OGP 5 has access to the small lagoon side beach by the community pool, and it is only a short walk of less than 1/4 mile to the beach the 13th street public beach (next to my Seafoam home!). These is a pedestrian cross walk to help you get across West Beach to that public beach too! PLUS there is a back trail from near our home to access all the fun and fishing at Calloway Bridge too!
PARKING
There is available onsite parking for 4-5 vehicles.
WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally rock solid and ran > 250Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.

We do consider well-behaved canine furry friends. This requires owner pre-approval, and is subject to a pet fee (currently $250 per pet). Please inquire. Subject to restrictions which often vary by season. Again, please inquire.

Every thing was great. This was probably our 5th or 6th time to stay in this house so we know it well. I’ve been vacationing in Gulf Shores since the 70’s with my parents & grandparents. Now I’m the grandmother and get to enjoy vacations with my children & grandchildren. We love the pier for fishing, the bay for kayaking and paddle boarding & the inlet for days the waves at the beach are too rough for the youngest grand.

Pricing was fair,floors were nasty still had sand on them first day there kids feet were black from the dirty floors had to clean there feet before letting them get in the bedView was great of the lagoon over all great place

Really sorry about the floors on arrival, though. A beach house will always have a little sand sneak in, bringing all the stuff in from the gravel driveway and more, but I'm surprised the little ones' feet were dirty. I've relayed it to my gang on the ground to tighten up the floor pass on turnovers. I don't see a note come through during the stay — did you send one? I want to make sure a ball wasn't dropped, because a quick re-clean the first day is exactly the kind of thing we'd have jumped on. The house was perfect for having so many different spots to gather in different sized groups for catching up. Also, with an almost 180° view of the bay water behind us, the view was spectacular! Everything was very clean and well kept. Our only disappointment was not getting to be out on the water until the last day due to jellyfish. That was disappointing.
We do hope to stay again sometime next year. We’ll see what the availability is for each family in January when we know more about everybody’s schedules.
Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for us. It holds good memories for us. We do hope to come back!

Our stay was relaxing. Loved having coffee on the decks in the morning. Much needed family time and ample space for everyone! Accommodations were great! The hosts were super responsive! Any time I had a question they responded within a half hour. Lovely people. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at On Golden Pond ! Beautiful property, with great views of the Sunset from multiple decks . Our group loved being on the Bay because several of our crew like to fish . There is a walkway just steps from the house where you can fish all you want . The walk to the beach was not an issue, my wife and I are 65 and it was not a big deal for us to walk. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and had more than enough room for our group. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen for cooking and our grandkids absolutely loved the Bunkbed room. I would definitely book this house again !!! The owner was a pleasure to work with !!

We traveled to Gulf Shores for a softball tournament/vacation. We had multiple families and the max guests and this house was perfect! The location is amazing! The lagoon is beautiful and peaceful and very refreshing to for the soul! Our guys fished and fished and fished some more! The beach is a very short walk and you are there in minutes! This place is away from all of the hustle and bustle so it’s nice and quiet but a very close drive to all the stuff! The kids loved the pool! The kitchen is stocked with all the dishes you need. The owners even came by with a bag of amazing chocolates! The management company was super easy to deal with! A few things could be fixed/adjusted in the house but it is a home that is lived in by so many families so that doesn’t take away from me giving this 5 stars!! If I ever go back to Gulf Shores with a large group again, I would definitely stay in this home!!!

We had a really nice time. Water was closed most of the stay but beach was nice. Seemed to be fewer people and reminded me when it was less commercial. Our family have visited gulf shores/orange beach for the past decade or so and we have stayed at OGP5 twice now, and OGP3 once, we love the location and have already booked for Father's Day next year. It's hard to find a place big enough for the family , economically and safe so we thank you for sharing your home with us.

We had 5 kids and 5 adults staying. Plenty of room for all of us with the ability to spread out. We were able to walk to the beach and only few minutes drive to restaurants when we weren't cooking at home. It was really quiet and the balconies looking over the lagoon was amazing!! We also noticed a water leak but I called and they had someone out there within a couple of hours.

I booked this house specifically for the fishing dock. My 74 year old mother loves to fish and she was able to fish all day and night if she wanted to! Easy walk to the community dock from the house! I enjoyed the easy walk to the beach as well. My party of 14 had plenty of space and had a wonderful time! Thanks for allowing me to rent your beautiful home!

The property location was great for our family. Could definitely use some updates. When we turned on the ceiling fan in upstairs master dust dropped all over the bed could have been cleaner over all. Kitchen definitely needed a few more pots and pans. Could definitely use new stove/oven, other appliances were updated and very nice.

We considered many properties and agreed that this was definitely the best option-access to the pool, lagoon, a great house with lots of space, and walking distance to the beach. This home is absolutely perfect for a large family, interested in kayaking, fishing or just enjoying the sunset over the lagoon. Just a short 5-10 mins walk to the ocean. Pool was clean and although a shared pool we found it never to be busy. The house lay out was perfect. Tons of setting on the main level. The house was clean and the bedrooms were comfortable. On Golden Pond #5 was a great location and a great home for our family reunion. We also rented #6 right next door for our group of 17 - the 2 houses together worked perfect. On Golden Pond #5 was a great location and a great home for our family reunion. We also rented #6 right next door for our group of 17 - the 2 houses together worked perfect. You will not go wrong with this lovely home. You get the Lagoon and easy beach access and near shopping, eating, drinking. Love Gulf Shores! We will do it again!

Perfect location. Service was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay. Loved the sunrises and sunset out on the balcony and at the dock. The house is beautiful. I had family visit from Missouri (who have never been to the beach) and the beach was just a few footsteps away!

Wonderful house and location! Plenty of space for a large group coming down to the beach. Scenic location by the water - quiet and peaceful, but a quick walk across the street gets you straight to the beach. Close to plenty of restaurants and activities. All the basic supplies are provided at the house - kitchen wares, including a coffee pot and keurig, plenty of towels, washer and dryer, dishwasher, etc. Loved all the communication from Bama Beach Houses. We felt fully prepared with all the information we needed for a wonderful stay. Would definitely book with them again.

Wonderful, spacious home and super close to the beach. The pictures do not do justice for the size and spaciousness of this house. Plenty of room and seating for everyone. Both a regular coffee pot and a keurig machine are in the kitchen. A television is in every bedroom and the washer and dryer seemed newer and were larger than expected. The public beach access is a short walk across the street, but the bay view is extremely relaxing as well. Multiple balconies to enjoy the view. Plenty of parking, which is a plus at the beach! The rental company is extremely thorough in their communication before, during, and after your stay with all the details of the stay, check in and check out directions, suggestions of restaurants and things to do, etc. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay in your home. The guy who came to look at things was very friendly. I told him the new bed could wait (as the memory foam would take time to fully open). He fixed the cabinets quickly (I was concerned one of our little ones would have the door fall on their feet). Your home had everything we needed (even had a few extra beds which never seems to happen for us). The dock is a place we loved as it was the only place with a little breeze during the terrible heat. The kids loved the pool and the ocean of course. I did forget to mention that we think the dishwasher may have an issue. It never seemed to go off (would run for a few hours) so we would cancel it after an hour as dishes were clean. But thanks again and will consider you all on our next trip to gulf shores!!!!

We had 5 kids and 5 adults staying. Plenty of room for all of us with the ability to spread out. We were able to walk to the beach and only few minutes drive to restaurants when we weren't cooking at home. It was really quiet and the balconies looking over the lagoon was amazing!! We also noticed a water leak but I called and they had someone out there within a couple of hours. We will definitely be back!!!

Beautiful home in a wonderful location. We spent a week here with friends. The kids loved the private sandbox area:). The views were gorgeous. Easy access to the beach. The house was clean and furnished beautifully. You do need to pack bath towels and washcloths unless you want to wash the few provided every day. The combination of bunk beds, regular beds and pull-out couch worked well for our families.

Our family is at the house currently and we have already booked for next year! This house is wonderful and the location is even better! Our family has loved being able to fish and go to the pool with ease! The walk to the beach is short and easy. The only thing I can say is the towels and rags for the house are low. There are 17 of us and we do not have enough towels at all. But, that is something trivial and hasn’t dampened our vacation at all. We cannot wait to come back to On Golden Pond #5 yearly! This is our new vacation spot!

My family & I enjoyed our stay May 2023. The first day we had a couple of minor repairs that we requested. The maintenance folks were awesome! They were quick to respond and took care of everything. They were professional and friendly. We really enjoyed fishing and the house over looking the lagoon provided amazing sunsets and wild life to watch. There was lot's of space for our group of 9. Having all the separate balconies came in handy when we needed a little separation. ( lol) We cooked several meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. Some of the furnishings could stand to be updated as they are showing their age and some of the doors don't operate properly. The first floor bedroom neither door latches properly and the middle of that bed has a hump. I think possibly a bed frame issue? Other than that we all slept comfortably and thoroughly enjoyed your home! I highly recommend it!!

This property is amazing!! My husband and I took all 9 of our kids and grandkids and they had so much fun. The location is perfect. You are right on the lagoon. There is a beautiful dock and pool. The kids loved fishing and crabbing. The beach is a very short walk away. The view from the house is gorgeous! There are several balconies. The house was clean and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. There is a grill. The owners are so nice and very responsive. I would highly recommend this property. We hope to go back soon!!

This is a fantastic place to stay in Gulf Shores if you have several people. Our family with adult children and grandson stayed here for several days. It worked out perfectly. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms. The view of the lagoon is lovely. The beach is only about 4 blocks. It is an easy walk, and there is a crosswalk to cross the busy street. It is also very close to a walking path that we also enjoyed. Our group liked to sit out on the deck and watch the birds and boats. The kitchen is well stocked. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Fantastic!!!! The house was perfect for our large family 9 adults 6 Grandkids and a very happy Golden Doodle named Gus !!! The location was beautiful right on the water with a very short walk to the beach and having the pool right next door was perfect. Highly recommend the Princess and Pirates breakfast at the Hangout if you have kids. Definitely plan on returning soon

July 2022. Our family of 11 stayed at On Golden Pond #5 this summer. It is a Bama Beach House property. This house could not have been more perfect!! With 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there was plenty of room for everyone. We especially enjoyed the open concept common area. The living room, dining room and kitchen were all open to each other. The dining table was big enough to hold everyone; lots of seating in the living room and an awesome long bar in the kitchen for preparing and serving food. We also loved the location. We were right on the lagoon and the kids loved to fish and crab off the fishing dock and long pier. The in ground pool was steps away and you could walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. Our family had the best time. The owners and their staff were great to work with and were very attentive, checking up on us with a personal visit a couple times during our stay. They even delivered a box of candy. You can’t go wrong renting from Bama Beach Houses!

We had a group of 11 and had plenty of room. The house is definitely older but it had character. The kitchen is spacious and the island was great for preparing food all with a full view of the ocean. Sadly the gulf was too rough so we were only able to enjoy that one day. We were thankful for the pool and the large deck so we could watch the water. I would recommend heating the pool. We were there in mid May and most days it was a bit too chilly to swim for the ladies. It didn't bother the kids. The main thing I would suggest to the owners is new mattresses for all the bedrooms. Specifically the back bedroom on the main floor (I felt like I was in a hole) and the front bedroom on the main floor (big dip in the middle). We would definitely stay here again. We loved walking to the pizza and ice cream shop in the evening and the coffee shop in the morning. We also walked to Bahama Bob's several times...we've always loved eating there. They have built condos in front of it, sad day. But the food is on point. We've been home a month now and we are already ready to go back!

Great house for beach vacation. This house was perfect for my family's recent vacation. There was a lot more room than we needed for 6 people (2 adults, 3 teens, and an 11 year old) plus a dog. It is very spacious and has plenty of couches and spaces for people to spread out. The kitchen is spacious also, and many people can be eating or preparing food at the same time. We all found the beds to be very comfortable. There are beautiful views of the lagoon from the balconies, and we enjoyed watching the pelicans diving for fish. The beach is very close and an easy walk. We loved it and would stay here again!

The trip was awesome and your house was perfect Loved being on the water and the close walk to the beach. The kids loved the pool and all of the “Kid Friendly “ restaurants!! It was our fist trip to Gulf Shores and we really fell in love with it . Would love to have a fall trip but we always go to Hilton Head for a couple weeks in Sept and then Indian Rock and Siesta for the month of February So don’t think we can squeeze in another trip south this year but we will definitely plan on coming back sometime next year. We live in Edgewood KY not far from downtown Cincinnati. Thanks again for letting us stay at your place and I look forward to talking to you soon to schedule our next trip.
