POOL?
You bet. The home has its OWN private heatable pool. Great size too! It's a 20x12x3-3.8' Rectangle! No sharing. Added a propane gas pool heater, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 82-84' (the high side of recommended rec pool temps) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a nightly surcharge that varies by season and is per night for length of stay (the 12 month range has been $65-85 depending on season) gas is expensive right now, this does not actually recoup the cost!). Simply request the pool be heated any time after making the reservation and any time up to at least a few days before check in so we can get it on before you arrive.

Beach access could not be easier! The East 4th Street public beach is kitty corner across the street. How do you get there? Walk out the door, go to to the stop light in front of the property, push button, and cross the street! No crossing random places or getting yelled at for short cutting through private property!
PARKING
There is available onsite parking for at least 4 midsize cars, more if you stack well!
WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 100Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.

We had a wonderful stay! The house has its own private pool which was such a plus for us! Very close walk to the beach! Could even see the ocean from the balconies! The home is spacious and very comfortable and my favorite part, has two refrigerators! Big plus that the hosts are extremely friendly and respond incredibly quickly to any question I had. I would highly recommend staying here!

The cottage was as pictured. Very easy access to the beach and close to restaurants and gift shops, etc. Our host was quick to answer questions and responded quickly when we had a small issue with the air conditioner that was fixed promptly. We received many emails prior to check in with helpful information about the area, the check-in process and suggestions for activities to do around the area. We were also able to rent high chairs and beach umbrellas through a suggestion provided in the check-in information. The pool was small but similar to other pools in the area. It worked ok for our group especially with our small grandchildren. Strongly recommend the "Fun Boat" dolphin cruise! We visited several restaurants close by and got amazing donuts from the Parlor - so good! We enjoyed our week in the Gulf Shores.

We took our family of 18 with 8 of them being kids under age of 8. This property was perfect. We loved everything about it and how close to the beach it was. LOCATION,LOCATION, LOCATION was everything with this house. Walkable to the beach .Private pool even though the community had a pool. It a lot space for the large group I was trying to accommodate. Rick emailed every day up til check-in and while there. Will save for the future.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The home is perfectly decorated and very spacious for large family stay. We also enjoyed the private pool and the short walk it took to get to the beach. The location is perfect close but not too close to all tourist locations. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed your house. Our entire family of 14 were able to comfortably able to enjoy the gulf coast. The pool was the big attraction in the heat. Lastly, the cleaning staff found my grandson’s cell phone and the management team sent it back to me. Thank you and your mgmt team for the effort to return it.

We loved our stay. Thank you so much for opening up your home. My husband and I brought the kids and grandkids to make memories and we did just that. The home is beautiful! Loved the decks, the king size beds, plus the bunk room so the littles had cousin time. The pool was the biggest hit and it was easy to access the beach. We enjoyed a space where we could make memories but also have their own rooms. We loved our stay!

Our stay at Rick’s Cottage G was a real pleasure. Check in was very easy. Upon walking up the steps to the first floor, I have to say, staying in a number of Air B&B’s since we’ve retired, this is one of the cleanest ones we’ve found. Large kitchen/living room area was easy for all 5 couples to navigate. We never felt crowded. We used the large dining table plenty for eating in and playing cards. And all light switches and kitchen cabinets were marked with labels throughout the home. A real help when stumbling around before making coffee in the morning. Both decks faced Beach Blvd, and all of us used the one on the main level every morning for coffee. Plastic decking and quality chairs were a nice touch there to accompany the view. My wife and I slept in a back bedroom, but the couples sleeping up front had no trouble with the road noise. We kept both refrigerators full and they kept food and drinks cold. Convenient location. I highly recommend this Gulf Shores property!

Family Vacation

If you are planning a family vacation this is the place to stay!! Close to beach, shopping and restaurants. Pool is great to relax when you have had to much of the sand. Beds are comfortable and having the washer and dryer is helpful with those who don’t tend to over pack. The only problem was the stove top was cracked and when I called to report the problem nothing was done about it but the other burners worked so we were still able to cook breakfast. Could use more amenities like blow dryers and toiletries but other than that…Great place to make lasting memories!!

We loved this house. All bedrooms are very spacious with a connected bathroom and king bed. The bunk room has twin queen beds and was perfect for the grandchildren. The pool was very nice and the walk to the beach is very short.

Thus was our second time staying at this property. It is perfect for a large family with young kids. The private pool is the reason qe rent this particular location. Place is perfect for a family vacation!

Our family has a great time. The house worked perfectly for all of our needs and Rick/his team were so quick and responsive for any questions or needs we had. One of the pans was broken and we couldn't find a bigger vacuum in the house. By the time we got back from the beach for lunch, new ones had been dropped off for us. Our only feedback would be that potentially the living room furniture could use a refresh or a few more seats be added there. and one of the stools in the kitchen had a screw coming through the seat, we just put some tape over it as an indicator so it could be seen but other than that, our family had an outstanding vacation and loved everything about it!

The cottage was beautiful, well maintained, very clean and great space for our family of 16. The pool was small but very nice. The area around the pool was nice with some shade and adequate comfortable seating. The parking was covered and spacious. We had 4 vehicles, 2 were large and we had plenty of room. The extra refrigerator was very helpful for our large crew to have space for food and drinks. The walk to the beach was easy and safe. We were very pleased with our stay.

Very spacious, clean house for our family vacation! We enjoyed the private pool and sitting on the balconies sipping our coffee each morning. Easy walking distance to the beautiful, white sandy beach. Our nightly walks to the ice cream shops was enjoyed by all. Really appreciated the great communication from the owners prior to the vacation starting.

We had a great time and the house worked out well for our group! The beds were very comfortable! We would have liked to have beach towels and beach chairs! These 2 items would be a great addition to the home!
Thanks Michele! Glad you all had a fantastic time and loved our place. I would love to provide beach chairs and towels, but as we mention in the listing (and our beach faqs on booking), that's really not feasible for a couple reasons, including the challenge of doubling the laundry (everyone then wants a beach towel or more per person... even though as everyone knows... even hotels/condos that DO provide towels for pool/beach, only do it for point of use... and even then it can be a battle, right? Not adding one per guest, so like 18 more towels to handle, launder, etc, the cleaners and mgt cos won't do it. :-( On beach toys, similar issue but really exacerbated by folks leaving them at the beach, so if we provide, they disappear (usually left at the beach/taken/taken by the "Leave only footprints" patrols at dusk) then next guest complains because we said we provided beach chairs (or whatever)... and we have to provide, so better to not provide at all). Again, I would love to be able to do that, but we found it to be not viable, and what I usually do myself, if we want some, and their aren't any that have been inherited at the house, is just hit walmart or similar and snag some, even let the kids in on the action and pick a few inexpensive ones each trip. Do very much appreciate the suggestion, just can't help with this one unfortunately, but glad you had a super time in my place, and hope I can help with a future stay too! Thanks again! Rick

I stayed here with my sons and their families. It worked great for us as each couple had their own bedroom. The one with bunks was perfect for the couple with small children. Kichen had plenty of dishes and cookware. My family really enjoyed the pool. But location was perfect with the beach just across street. Never had an issue during the entire stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall the place was great. The floors could have been a bit cleaner, but not a huge problem. The communication and follow up with the management staff was the best I’ve ever experienced on a vacation and I’ve been vacationing for over 40 years. Excluding uncontrollable environmental issues, the house was great.

We loved our stay at this property! We would absolutely book again! It was just as described. The house was clean, had a wonderful lay out, especially when traveling with multiple families and children. Private pool was a huge plus, as was the additional refrigerator. Short walk to the beach and great restaurants. Host communicator was incredible helpful and timely. Everyone had an incredible time!

We loved the location and the easy access to the beach. We have plenty of space for all 4 families. We had one issue with the lock not working like it should but they have since replaced the lock. We would definitely stay here again.

We really loved and enjoyed our stay here. The bedrooms are a great size and we liked having extra beds. The kitchen was well in stock with everything you might need. The pool was great to have for my girls. The beach access is just a few minutes from the house. Would definitely come back next year!

We had a good time and the place slept us all well. We didn't have any issues other than at one point I tried to get to that downstairs fridge with the code you provided and it didn't seem to work? Wasn't a big deal though (turns out just needed to pull the door a little while entering code so the deadbolt could move). As for the hangout, it was extremely hot out there but lots of great performers. We all enjoyed it!

We came to gulf shores with our children and grandkids to get married on the beach. It was stunning. The weather, the house, the host has excellent communication. We will definitely return. This is such a beautiful house, and so spacious to accommodate a big group. It was a quick walk to the public beach access, and the private pool is the best thing ever. We didn’t know how much we would love the pool with small kids, but during naps we could hang out close by at the pool. My family had the best vacation here! Highly recommend.

Great location, walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. The house was in perfect condition. We had trouble with the lock to the door by the pool. I text the property manager and she called be back and tried to help me over the phone. We couldn’t figure it out so she came to the property with in 20 minutes to help me. I would definitely book this property again in the future.

My extended family stayed in this beautiful home for a spring break trip. There were 15 of us - 8 adults and 7 kids. The king-size bedrooms were nice for the adults to stay in and the kids enjoyed sleeping in the bunk bed rooms. The two porches were great and had plenty of seating for all of us. The kids loved the pool. We requested the pool heater to be turned on which was a good thing since the temps were a little chilly. The beach is just across the street which made it very convenient. We had a great stay in this beautiful home!
