Great place to stay in Bloomington, in the heart of Indiana University's athletics area! We have just the spot for you. Located 2 blocks west of IU Memorial Stadium on East 17th, our place is an easy walk to all the athletics and graduation events, and very convenient for any other trip to IU and the Bloomington area! You can see the stadium area from the bedroom window, roughly, well, 3 football field lengths away!
Parking? You bet. Despite being right by all the action, you have parking for at least 1 car right behind the unit, not blocks away.. right there!
This 1 bedroom has a queen bed, but what's more? Its not just a one bedroom. Its a 1 bedroom apartment with its own separate living room area, and a separate kitchenette area with a full set of cabinets, a FULL refrigerator, and a convection microwave. Oh, and coffee? Of course... both a Kuerig and a drip coffee maker for whatever your high octane (or decaf) desires may be! Kitchen table with 4 chairs if you invite a few friends.
This apartment is on two levels, with the full bath and the living room on the ground floor. The living room has a couch, some bonus chairs and a small table and additional chairs. Up the stairs... and the kitchen, bedroom, and a half bath are on the top floor.
Outside the front door is a small concrete patio area at the entry. We do not provide furniture outside since it is off 17th street--lots of foot traffic--however, we provide a nice small table and 2 chairs in the living room that you can migrate outside for chilling (and people watching). Just bring them back inside please so they don't wander off! :-)
Internet & Wifi? You bet. High speed internet from T-Mobile delivered on a nice Eero-based Mesh network to ensure coverage throughout. Smart TV in living room to login to your own services. Please note we do NOT provide cable or other television services at this time but you are welcome to use the smart tv to login to your own, or BYO device to have whatever your usual services are.
Share anything? No. Nothing inside, and not the entrance either! You have a private entrance to this apartment. The kitchen, living room, baths, and bedroom are for your exclusive use. Please note that this apartment is an apartment among other apartments and townhomes which means (although this almost goes without saying...) that it shares walls with other townhomes, as well as the parking areas and outside common areas. Because this is in the heart of the athletics area, you can expect to be in the middle of all the football, graduation, basketball, soccer, and other action along 17th street. Want to be in the middle of it all, with easy, nearly unparalleled access, this is the one! Want to be isolated, off the beaten path, no one around (and a drive to the action)? I have stayed at this location twice this year and both stays were perfect. My first stay was in April to move my Son's large furnishings out of his apartment before graduation. I hosted his 2 roommates for tacos and this location felt just right home. The kitchen, bedroom and 1/2 bath are located upstairs. When you walk into the AirBnB there is a couch, TV and full bath. It was FABULOUS having two bathrooms and two closets to hang our graduation clothes.
Our second stay was for IU Graduation and this place was fantastic. This location is in walking distance to Assembly Hall & the football stadium. (It is located kitty corner to Evolve.)
Although we did not need Rick or his team during our stay, I did contact them prior to our arrival for two items: to extend my stay for a day and to see if they had an iron for us to use for the graduation gown (and they did). Rick & his team quickly responded and assisted me with my visit.

You really captured what makes this spot work โ that walkable location kitty-corner to Evolve, close to Assembly Hall and the stadium, and the two-bathroom, two-closet layout that's such a lifesaver when you've got graduation clothes to hang and a full house. Perfect for IU Football!

Went to IU for dad's weekend. Rick's place was very convenient for the football game, 2-3 blocks from the stadium. I like to walk so it was very walkable to campus activities and Kirkwood for bars and restaurants. The apartment was very clean with a cozy TV room on the ground level and kitchen and bedroom upstairs. Both floors had a bathroom so that was very convenient. The cleaning service forgot to leave shower towels, but this was quickly corrected after a text message, things happen and you move on. I did not prepare any meals so I can't really speak to the selection of utensils. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable with plenty of closet space. You are on 17th street so it is crowded and noisy before, during and after football games but to me that's part of this exciting time in IU football. If you are tailgating you could easily walk back to the apartment to get more supplies, use the bathroom or take a break. I'll be staying again if available.

It looked exactly as pictured. It is not a large unit, hence the two person capacity, but it was all that you need. It was walking distance to the football stadium, parking on premises and a really comfortable bed. It was all very clean and easy to maneuver. While I didn’t have any issues, Rick still reached out to see if everything was ok. It was a perfect stay in a very convenient location for a football game. Thank you Rick for a seamless experience!

This was a very lovely place to stay at! I was staying here from January 17-March 6 as I completed my required internship for my major here at IU! I feel like the price was worth every penny. I would stay here again! Even when it snowed leaving my car trapped, I messege them about a shovel and within 10 minutes the shovel arrived for me! Also when shoveling some of the neighbors shoveled for me and helped me. So that goes to show how friendly the area is! I had everything I needed when it came to kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies, etc! Again, worth every penny!

Pros-clean, ease of check in & location. I was able to check in early. The amenities listed were not all found in the unit. The owner did bring me an iron & table top ironing board ( not early to use). Cons- bare bones. Pots & pans & Keurig but nothing to go with them. The owner did brine me 2 coffee pods after I complained about the amenities.

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit bummed the 5th star went AWOL! ๐ Since we’ve hosted hundreds of guests here over several years with 5-star feedback, your perspective is helpful to keep us on our toes.
I was happy to jump into 'concierge mode' to make sure your meeting was a success—from granting an early check-in and late checkout to personally delivering a brand-new iron and board on a Friday night (I only missed the first set of the IU volleyball game to make it happen! ๐๐). I hand-selected that tabletop model specifically because it’s the most efficient 'fit' for a compact 1BR footprint. I’m sorry it wasn't your preferred style, but it really is the best solution for the space!
Regarding the kitchen: we design our 1BRs as high-efficiency 'landing pads.' We provide the hardware (pots/pans), but not grocery staples. I was at a bit of a loss on the 'bare bones' comment, as I reached out twice during your stay to ask for specifics so I could fix them in the moment—but didn't hear back. As for the coffee pods—you’re right! Our crew noticed most guests weren't using them and got too 'lean' with the stocking. I’ve already told the team to 'up the game' there immediately.

I stayed at Rick's for about a month, and it was one of the best stays I've had. The apartment was in a great location and had all the amenities I needed. Rick was extremely quick to respond to any messages and was a very helpful and friendly host.

Rick and Great Stays Bloomington were very easy to communicate with, and very flexible with check In time if given a heads up. The house was everything that is shown and said to be. Very nice for 2 people to relax for a weekend or even go to a football game or sporting event given it’s location on campus.

We love the location for Football and basketball games and it is a quick walk to our daughter's house. The house was quiet and we couldnt hear the cars on the road. Its perfect for a couple, but a little awkward having the shower downstairs and the bedroom upstairs, but we didnt mind. The airconditioning worked great. We will definitely stay here again. The decor is cute and it was very clean. Bed is firm which my husband loved and the linens were nice.
